Great podcast on the Iota distributed ledger technology and how it differs from blockchain.
Particularly interesting is that transactions using Iota’s Tangle can be submitted and approved by nodes connected to each other but disconnected from the Internet. When reconnected with the Internet the subtangle will rejoin the main tangle.
Also there are no miners and no blockchain. In order to make a transfer, nodes must approve transactions from other nodes. The network resiliency increases as the number of nodes increases. So a tangle is more antifragile than a blockchain.
